Royal Wedding Similes

Add a simile as a comment to this post describing something to do with the royal wedding.

Explain how your simile works, what is it doing? Does it create an image in the reader's head? How? Does it add more description? How?

E.g.

The Queen looked as fresh and pretty as a daffodil on a spring day.

My simile compares the queen to a daffodil as this is similar to the colour she was wearing. She also looked fresh and new like a spring day.
