"I am 11" responses

What did you think of the film? What would you score it out of 10? Why?

Who is your favourite 11 year old?  Why?  Has this changed from your initial thoughts when we watched the trailers?

What has stuck in your mind from the film?  Is there anything that you are still thinking about?

What would you like to find out more about from the film?

What made you laugh/cry/cringe in the film?

  2. I think the film was funny and it also told us about what 11 year old kids were experiencing in other countries. I would score this film 9/10.

My favourite 11 year old was Billy because he always said funny things. I didn't think he was going to make me laugh so much but he did.

Something that has stuck in my mind was how the 11 year olds from India lived in the same place for a long time and I can't believe they would put up with that for so long.

I would have liked it if the director of the film filmed more of the eleven year olds when they weren't eleven year olds anymore to find out what they thought about not being eleven aanymore.

Billy made me laugh a lot but some other people made me laugh as well. I don't think anything from the film would have made me cry or cringe.

  4. Hi everyone
I liked the movie because it was interesting to learn about people with a similar age from around the world and their experiences. I give it a 8/10 because it was really good but it got at bit boring at some points. I really liked Billy because he was really funny76 and the movie was sort of serious and he made it better. When we watched the trailer I thought it looked really good. The thing that stuck in my mind was when the Indian girls were surprised they had working lights in their new house. I think it would be interesting to find out what their lives are like in 20-30 years. Billy made me laugh alot.

My favourite person in it was Remi because I think we share quite a lot of similarities.
The thing that stuck in my mid was how jack put his head against the elephants head and how it cured his head.

  8. I thought the flim was awesome because I liked to see what kids my age around the world lives are like and it was very very interesting. I would score this film 9/10 because I really liked it and would like to take my family and friends this film.

I really liked the boy from the UK his name is Billy and he is the most funniest out of all of them and when he is 15 years old he is still the same. He was alot funnyer then the trailer.

I am still thinking about the 11 year old boy Goh in Thailand and I keep thinking about him because I keep wondering about riding an eleplant.

I would want to get to know the directors a liitle bit more.

I always laughed at Billy because he has the most sense of humor.

    1. Hi Liv
I've seen some of the children from the movie as 18 and 19 year olds on the DVD extras and they were all the same as they were in the movies. What do you think that says about our personalities over time?

  9. I like the film. I would rate the film 10/10 because it was really interesting to watch.
The thing that made me laugh is that billy was talking funny. It was worth going to Te Papa for a while though. The director did a good job on the movie making.

  10. Hey,
I would rate the movie 8.5/10 because it was really good but I reckon it was a bit long.
My favourite 11 year old was Billy because he made me laugh and he was really funny because the things that he said were really unusual and weird; and I could tell that he was gonna be funny from the trailer.
That thing that stuck in my mind was that it must seem normal to Goh but it would be so cool to be able to ride elephants pretty much whenever you want and they seem like amazing animals.
I would like to find out how long it took to film all of the kids and how long it took to get the finished result of the documentry.
Billy made me laugh and it mad me a bit sad to think that some children don't get fed proper food or have a supply of clean water.

  13. Hi everyone
I thought that the movie was interesting and funny.I would rate the film 8/10 because it was interesting. I liked Billy because he was funny and I also liked Goh because he had an elephant and it looked really cool to have play in the river with it. The thing that has stuck in my mind is how the Indian girl was just bulding their house. I would like to find out how long it would take to find all the different 11 year olds to put in the movie. Billy made me laugh alot.

  14. I think the film was a humorous film as well as a news report like been told by 11 year olds around the world.I would rate this video a 8.5 out of 10 because it was a great report about global issues around the world and the good thing is that it is been told by 11 year olds and what they feel about them.

What made me laugh about the film was how Billy said wierd but funny stuff such as "I like dirty dancing".This has changed because when i watched the trailer it looked like they were just serious but it turned out it wasn't.

Osama and Sadin is stuck in my head because of those great raps of his life and actually i want to learn their raps.Thats the only thing i am thinking about.

I would like to find out how this director of the film got all around the world to find all these 11 year olds to talk to?

My favourite 11 year old was Billy because he always made me laugh and made the movie more enjoyable. Im still thinking about how interesting the maybe Chinese boy in England was because he was very funny when he said he was going to be the tree for christmas because his family was messed up financialy. I would like to find out more about how others live in different countries and learn more about how we are different. I laughed when Billy said funny things because it was just really funny.

O ut of ten I would rate it.....probably 7 because it was really funny(Billy)and also quite interesting because you got to find out a whole heap about how children from all over the worlds lives were.
My favourite eleven year old would be...Billy because he was really really funny, because who likes wedgies?and when he is grown up he is still really funny:)
But he can also remember quite alot from when he was young, like being born:)
He actually has kind of changed my mind about Billy because in the trailer I thought he was like just funny but, from the movie I now see that he actually has a really good memory.
What I would like to find out more about the movie is...Where did she get the idea of going all aroung the world and filming eleven year olds? And wouldn't that cost alot of money to travel to that many countries.
What made me funny is of course Billy and the person who made me feel sorry for them was the guy from France because he is an orphan but still has hope for his parents....:( And I think that it is sad that his parents either died or left him...
