In the book Jess has a race and loses by a new girl that live down the road from him. he becomes friends with Leslie. later they make a special place called Terebitha.
This book is about a boy called jess who has 4 sisters and gets a new neighbour and they become very close, then something tradgic happens to her while hes out with his teacher
